Track and Retain Your Financial Records

Posted by Primer on July 25, 2008

Do you have an idea of the balance of your checking account before getting online to find out? Are you one of those people that really never know your checking or savings account balance until you call the automated bank line or get on the internet to find out? Millions of individuals are in the same boat that you are in and do not reconcile their bank and savings accounts properly. This can cause bank fees to incur and they can be pretty costly. Checking off all of your deposits and withdrawals will help keep you safe from NSF fees.

Financial record maintenance is important when figuring a household budget and paying bills on time. It is also very important that you retain your financial records for a period of seven years, according to the Internal Revenue Service, in case of an audit. However, when the time has passed and you want to throw out the records, always use a paper shredder to completely destroy your personal information. Paper shredders, such as a Dahle shredder or a Destroyit shredder can be purchased online or most any office supply store. Whatever method you choose, make sure that you protect yourself by tracking your financial records and then properly shredding them.

Gas Up Your Screening Machine for the Job

Posted by Primer on July 22, 2008

Using a topsoil screening machine allows for savings of materials, but what many don’t realize is that these machines are powered by the same gas that runs our cars and trucks. Many dirt screeners operate on a gas engine requiring diesel fuel. With gas prices as high as they are these days, that may not seem like much of a benefit. There is the convenience, though, of using the same gas as for a truck since one does not have to go out and seek an additional fueling source. Just gas up the screener and start working.

Compost screens, such as the EZ 1200XL, are run by powerful diesel engines. Other models have choices of gas or diesel engines, with anywhere from 5 to 25 hp. This portable screener packs a pretty good punch for its size. With the non-hydraulic Kinetic Screen Drive, the screen power is increase relative to horsepower used. Also, less fuel is burned up for each relative measure of material screened, so using gas to power these machines is a pretty good investment. Just think, if the machine is being carried by a truck that also needs to fill up, then both the truck and screener can be gassed up at the same time.

The Importance of Having the Right Equipment

Posted by equiPrime on July 19, 2008

No matter what type of business or industry you enter, it’s going to be crucial that you immediately get the right business equipment to do the job that you are trying to do. Without the right equipment, most work becomes much more difficult and time-consuming than it needs to be. This causes unnecessary costs for the business. It may also result in concern from customers who don’t feel like they’re getting the work that they’re paying for.

Take, for example, the fairly simple job of cutting hair. You don’t need a whole lot of equipment for that job. However, you do need some basic tools. You need the right type of scissors, a place and materials for washing and drying the customer’s hair and some tools for dyeing and styling hair. If you don’t have the right equipment, you may not be able to cut the hair or you may not be able to do it well.

Now imagine that you’re talking about an industry or business that requires a significant amount more equipment than hairstyling does in order to get the job done. You can see how it would be really bad for these businesses not to have the equipment they need.
