Know What You’re Buying When Doing Construction

The first rule of doing any kind of construction job is that you have to have the right tool for the job. This sounds obvious but it’s actually really easy to have the wrong set of tools and yet to try to make do with them. This is always a mistake. If you ever find yourself buying tools for a construction project, make sure that you know what you’re buying before you make the purchase.

I offer this advice out of my own experience. There are unfortunately several examples of this problem from my past. The first one that comes to mind is a time that I needed to buy a temporary construction fence for my place of business. Someone else told me that they had a good experience using a tensabarrier system so I purchased that without looking at it too closely.

Now, don’t get me wrong, a tensabarrier would’ve been a great solution to some indoor barrier issues. It’s a good product. But what I needed was something durable for use outdoors and what I ordered didn’t meet that need. The point is that it doesn’t matter how good the tool is if it’s not the right tool. Now I make sure I know what I’m getting before I get it!

I know exactly what you are saying. I tried for so long to do this job once and I could not figure out why it simply was not working out as it was supposed to or why it was taking so long. Well, I had the wrong equipment that was why!
