Equipment Needed to Do Business Support

Posted by equiPrime on August 21, 2008

Many people are starting to provide business support services from home. This is a great job that you can do fairly easily with only a limited amount of equipment. However, there may be some types of equipment that you’ll opt to add to your home office specifically because of the clients that you choose to provide support services to.

For example, if you were going to supply regular business support services that required printing and mailing of fliers and brochures then you might want to invest in some equipment that would make you capable of assisting in that work. An electric paper cutter, a business card cutter, and a corner rounder are examples of equipment that you might want to buy for a job like this.

You wouldn’t want to make this type of investment if you planned on providing only temporary services to such a business. In that case you would keep your investment minimal - a phone, a computer with high-speed Internet, an all-in-one printer / fax machine and other office basics would suffice. Think about whether or not your clients will be long-term clients before you choose to spend money on equipment that is specific to certain industries.

This article makes me wonder if maybe what you are talking about is something that even I could do. I mean I work full time right now but I am not really happy with where I am or what I am doing. Maybe this would be a good start, thanks!
