Wireless town

Even though I live in a fairly small town, I consider myself lucky that there are several different wireless internet providers in the area. Pretty much everywhere you go, there is a wireless hotspot, which I think is great. I’m a freelance writer and editor, and while I have a wonderful office and high speed internet service at my home, I love to get out of my comfort zone and do some writing outside of the house. It’s a great way to get the creative juices flowing.
My nice little Midwestern town is somewhat of a tourist haven and it’s great to be able to grab my laptop and go sit in a park or a nice little coffee shop and do some people watching to find inspiration. While I do sometimes just use a pad and pen, having the option of a wireless connection can help if I need to look something up on line. And business owners are great about letting people sit for hours with a laptop, surfing the net or writing.
I think that the only place in town that doesn’t have internet access is the local church and I wouldn’t be all that surprised to find out that even they were wired!

Isn’t wireless internet just the best thing? It is amazing how far the average person’s use of the world wide web has come in just about a decade or so.
