Pretty much everywhere you go, there is a wireless hotspot, which I think is great. I’m a freelance writer and editor, and while I have a wonderful office and high speed internet service at my home, I love to get out of my comfort zone and do some writing outside of the house. It’s a great way to get the creative juices flowing.

My nice little Midwestern town is somewhat of a tourist haven and it’s great to be able to grab my laptop and go sit in a park or a nice little coffee shop and do some people watching to find inspiration. While I do sometimes just use a pad and pen, having the option of a wireless connection can help if I need to look something up on line. And business owners are great about letting people sit for hours with a laptop, surfing the net or writing.

I think that the only place in town that doesn’t have internet access is the local church and I wouldn’t be all that surprised to find out that even they were wired!
